The 2022 NCAA Tournament’s top overall seed, Kentucky Men’s Soccer (15-0-5), will face the Pittsburgh Panthers (9-4-5) in the Sweet 16 at 6:00 p.m. EST on Sunday night at the Wendell and Vickie Bell Soccer Complex in Lexington, KY.

Cats coming off shutout win in Round of 32

The still-undefeated ‘Cats are coming off a 4-0 shutout victory over South Florida in the Round of 32 last Sunday. Kentucky received a bye in the opening round and has hosted every postseason matchup so far.

Pittsburgh comes into Sunday’s match with a 2-1 win over Cleveland State in the Round of 64 and a shocking 3-0 win over #16 Akron in the Round of 32.

Although Kentucky and Pittsburgh have yet to play one another yet this season, the two have gone head-to-head against some of the same programs this season: West Virginia, Louisville and Marshall.

Kentucky’s matchups against West Virginia and Marshall ended in draws while Pittsburgh had a shutout win over West Virginia, but lost to Marshall.

Kentucky remains undefeated

Heading into the match on Sunday, each squad has tallied the same amount of draws on the season thus far, but Kentucky remains the only undefeated team in the country.

This is the third straight season where the ‘Cats have found themselves in the Sweet 16. Kentucky has only made it to the Elite 8 one time in school history, which happened in 2018.

You’ll be able to watch the match on ESPN+ at 6:00 p.m. EST on Sunday, November 27th, but you can also head on out to The Bell in Lexington to root on the ‘Cats.
