Before he can make his way to the Bluegrass State, Kentucky commit Andrija Jelavić must first finish up the postseason with his Serbian professional team.

Suiting up for Mega Superbet, Jelaivć did not have his best outing a few days ago in the opening round of the ABA (Adriatic) League playoffs. Already down 1-0 in a three-game series against Budućnost VOLI, Mega Superbet came up short in Game 2 on Friday, losing 92-87 and thus getting knocked out of the league’s postseason. Jelaivć recorded only four points on 2-6 shooting, but still managed 11 rebounds and four assists in his team-high 33 minutes.

However, despite the loss, Mega Superbet’s season isn’t finished just yet.

A couple of days later, on Sunday, Jelavić and his teammates moved over to a different Serbian league, KLS (otherwise known as the Serbian Basketball League), for the first matchup of a three-game quarterfinal series against FMP Soccerbet. Mega Superbet took another loss, 86-81, but not because of an off game from Jelavić. The incoming Kentucky freshman was a standout performer in Game 1, going for 20 points (8-10 FG), 14 rebounds, and two blocks in a team-high 32 minutes of action.

Mega Superbet will need another good showing from Jelavić, who turns 21 a week from today, if they want to keep their season alive. A decisive Game 2 against FMP Soccerbet is set for Wednesday. The winner of the series advances to the semifinals, while the other is packing up and going home for good.

With his season in the ABA League officially behind him, Jelavić made his mark as one of the top young prospects in the entire league.

Across 29 games played, the 6-foot-11 stretch forward posted per-game averages of 10.7 points, 7.4 rebounds (second in the league), and 1.6 assists in 27.5 minutes. He shot 48.5 percent overall from the field, 30.5 percent on three-pointers, and 69.1 percent from the free throw line in what was his second season with the program. Mega Superbet earned the 8-seed in the tournament with a regular season record of 16-14, but ran into the top-seeded Budućnost VOLI (26-4) in the postseason opener and couldn’t muster up enough wins to advance.

Once Jelavić’s run in the KLS Playoffs wraps up, he’ll begin the process of making the move to the United States. Most of Kentucky’s 2025-26 roster is expected to arrive on campus in early to mid-June.
