UPDATED Intern High School Football Rankings: Week 7 (Using Just KSR Writers)
It’s a bye week for the college football fans in us so I thought it was a good time to take a look back and make some updates to my preseason KSR Writer High School Football rankings. We now have 6 weeks of data to go off of and have a pretty good idea which writer’s alma mater will be competing for a state title next month and which won’t.
KSR has really become a top provider of high school content, especially in the high school football world. You can find all kinds of content from Jack, Zack, and so many others here. I would highly advise checking that stuff out as well.
Also, you can check out the Massey Predictions for Week 7.
1. PLEASURE RIDGE PARK (BTI)
Current Record: 1-5
Week 7: BYE
The record is not indicative of just what a monster this team is. You won’t have a chance to witness it this week but I can comfortably say this is the best 1-5 team in Kentucky history. Plus the Panthers are a 6-A squad from the big city so they are basically untouchable to anybody else.
PREDICTION: PRP 62, BYE 0
2. MADISONVILLE-NORTH HOPKINS (DREW)
Current Record: 4-2
Week 7: vs. Muhlenberg County
MNHHS sounds like a branch of the government but they are in fact a team that is untouchable on their home turf. A perfect 3-0 in the friendly confines of Franklin Stadium (just a guess on the name). And this week, they get another home game. So the prediction is fairly easy on this one.
PREDICTION: MADISONVILLE NORTH HOPKINS 39, MUHLENBERG COUNTY 10
3. EASTERN (JACK PILGRIM)
Current Record: 2-3
Week 7: at Bullitt Central
This squad is what you might call “headed in the wrong direction”, losing their last 2 games by a combined 88-3. With that said, they now play the landlocked school in Shannon the Dude’s home county. I think the Eagles get revenge in a big way.

PREDICTION: EASTERN 88, BULLITT CENTRAL 3
4. MCLEAN COUNTY (PHOENIX)
Current Record: 3-3
Week 7: WIN over Hopkins County Central 48-46
This group is basically the anti-Madisonville squad. They absolutely despise their home fans. 1-3 at home and 3-0 on the road. I just imagine all the dads are like Johnny Moxon’s dad from Varsity Blues and put too much pressure on the boys. And the moms are all like Coach Tammy Taylor from Friday Night Lights. And yeah, so what, I have dreams about McLean County football.
PREDICTION: MCLEAN COUNTY 48, HOPKINS COUNTY CENTRAL 46
5. MIDDLESBORO (MATT)
Current Record: 2-3
Week 7: vs. Harlan
Larry French’s team did not retreat after an 0-3 start. But they still have scored just 88 points in 5 games this year. Which sounds bad until you realize they play Harlan tonight, a team that has only score 80 points in 5 games. Whatever the over/under for this game is, take the under.
PREDICTION: MIDDLESBORO 5, HARLAN 4
6. PAUL LAWRENCE DUNBAR (ZACK)
Current Record: 1-4
Week 7: at Tates Creek
Is this team 1-4? Yes. Is this team ranked 32nd in the RPI in Class 6-A? Yes. Have they been shut out twice this year? Yes. But does Zack still love his alma mater? No clue. That’s all I got from PLD. Thank you KHSAA website.
PREDICTION: TATES CREEK Yes, DUNBAR No
7. DANVILLE (TYLER)
Current Record: 0-6
Week 7: LOST at Campbellsville 36-0
Nobody beats this team 18 times in a row. Now 18 teams might beat them once in a row though. Which is occurring right now. But when I first met Tyler one of the great pieces of advice she gave me was you might write 18 crappy posts in a row (which I have) but in Danville, we never do anything bad 19 times in a row. Advice I live by every day.
PREDICTION: CAMPBELLSVILLE 36, DANVILLE 0 (I think I might get this right)
8. DESALES (NICK ROUSH)
Current Record: 4-2 unofficially
WEEK 7: vs. Waggener
They stink.
PREDICTION: WAGGENER 326, DESALES -72
