Now that the NBA lottery is out of the way and the top 15 teams are set, the experts can begin to agree on the draft order. Kind of. A few sources have already updated their NBA mock drafts to reflect the Hornets first and the Bobcats second, but there still not much consensus on where the guys below Anthony Davis will fall. Here are four of the most recent update mock drafts from around the internet.
NBAdraft.net 1. New Orleans — Anthony Davis 2. Charlotte — Harrison Barnes 3. Washington — Andre Drummond 4. Cleveland — Michael Kidd-Gilchrist 5. Sacramento — Thomas Robinson
This is the highest projection of Harrison Barnes yet. While Barnes may be even better in the NBA than he was in college, second overall may be a little too high?
Jeff Goodman of CBS 1. New Orleans — Anthony Davis 2. Charlotte — Bradley Beal 3. Washington — Andre Drummond 4. Cleveland — Harrison Barnes 5. Sacramento — Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
One of the ideal scenarios for Kentucky fans, not having Davis in Charlotte and MKG heading out west to play with DeMarcus Cousins and Chuck Hays in Sacramento. The Kings could be loading up on former Cats.
Matt Moore of CBS 1. New Orleans — Anthony Davis 2. Charlotte — Bradley Beal 3. Washington — Michael Kidd-Gilchrist 4. Cleveland — Thomas Robinson 5. Sacramento — Harrison Barnes
Another good situation for Cats fans, now Kidd-Gilchrist goes to D.C. to play with John Wall in another dynamite duo of former Kentucky greats. The two CBS guys favor Bradley Beal over Barnes in Charlotte, and that seems to be a more ideal fit.
IBTimes.com 1. New Orleans — Anthony Davis 2. Charlotte — Michael Kidd-Gilchrist 3. Washington — Thomas Robinson 4. Cleveland — Bradley Beal 5. Sacramento — Harrison Barnes
From the best situations to the worst, this projection has MKG walking right into the place we hope Davis wouldn’t. But just like Davis, Kidd-Gilchrist is tough as nails and he could survive as well as anybody in that franchise. An average projection of these four mock drafts has Davis, of course, the consensus No. 1 pick. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Bradley Beal tie for third, Harrison Barnes fourth, and Andre Drummond and Thomas Robinson tie for sixth.
