Several SEC programs are recruiting Re’Mahn “Ray” Davis to stay within the conference.
On Saturday morning, the Vanderbilt transfer running back announced that a decision is “coming soon”. Davis officially entered his name into the transfer portal on Monday, Dec. 5, and immediately picked up an offer from the Kentucky Wildcats. Since then, the likes of Oklahoma State, Mississippi State, Missouri, and California have all reached out with scholarships.
Davis is considered the No. 57 overall player in the On3 Transfer Portal Player Rankings and the fifth-highest-rated running back.

Davis was one of four SEC running backs in 2022 to register over 1,000 yards (1,042) on the ground while also tacking on five touchdowns. He finished the season with a total of eight touchdowns. The 5-foot-9, 205-pounder spent the first two years of his college career at Temple before transferring to Vanderbilt in 2021. Davis only played three games as a junior though before suffering a season-ending knee injury. He will have two years of college eligibility left.
A three-star high school prospect out of Blair Academy (NJ), Davis committed to Temple from the class of 2019. He became a First-Team Freshman All-American by PFF for the Owls after running up 936 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground.
