The 2024 Kentucky football season is off and running with a big game looming this weekend at home against South Carolina. Mark Stoops‘ program will be looking to get off to a fast start in SEC play before No. 1 Georgia rolls into town next week. But before the games started, Kentucky locked up two keep offensive assistants.

Per the University of Kentucky’s Office of Legal Counsel, running backs coach/special teams coordinator Jay Boulware and associate head coach/tight ends coach/recruiting coordinator/NFL Liason Vince Marrow each received contract upgrades last month.

Jay Boulware signed a two-year deal with Kentucky following the 2022 season worth $550,000 annually. On August 24, the 51-year-old agreed to a one-year contract extension that will pay the assistant $575,000 in 2025. The former Arizona, Stanford, Utah, Iowa State, Auburn, Oklahoma, and Texas assistant now has two years remaining on his deal and will make $550,000 this season.

Vince Marrow received a contract extension from Kentucky after the 2021 season that got the popular assistant coach into the million-dollar club. The Big Dog received a three-year contract extension that paid $1.1 million in 2022, $1.2 million in 2023, and $1.3 million in 2024. Now Marrow has received a two-year extension.

The program’s top recruiter will make $1.3 million in 2025 and 2026. If Vince Marrow accepts any other coaching position during this contract, the university would be owed “$200,000 per year of the remaining compensation on the agreement”.

Kentucky inked offensive coordinator Bush Hamdan (3-year, $4.05 million), offensive line coach Eric Wolford (two-year, $1.15 million with Alabama still paying buyout money in 2024), and wide receivers coach Daikiel Shorts Jr. (two-year, $615K) to new deals this offseason. The university also sweetened the current deals for the remaining offensive staff members in August.
