Vince Marrow Pleas for Kentucky Football Fans to Hang in There, "Keep Supporting and Believing"
Is that Journey playing? Because the Kentucky football coaches don’t want fans to stop believing in this program.
The was a hacky way to describe what happened last night on The Mark Stoops Show. Vince Marrow was in a tough spot. The associate head coach was tasked to fill-in for his friend who was burying his mother. Marrow grew up in the Stoops household. It’s a loss he was certainly feeling as well.
It wasn’t a layup for Marrow either. There has never been a better Hype Man for the Kentucky Football program than the Big Dog, but nobody wants to hear that right now. A month that started with so much promise following a win at No. 6 Ole Miss ended with three straight losses.
It’s hard to see any light at the end of the tunnel. One caller, an ardent supporter of Mark Stoops and Vince Marrow, asked the Kentucky associate head coach for a pep talk. Marrow pleaded for Big Blue Nation to stick by this team.
“Just keep supporting and believing. I’m very disappointed in some of these losses. When people criticize us — I’m like Stoops. Where we’re from? We’re big boys, we can take the criticism. I really feel bad for our fans. And I’m telling you this, we will get this thing going,” said Marrow.
“I think you’ll see some good things coming down the line. Just keep supporting and you’ll start seeing a team that you love playing hard and physical and playing for this state. I can say this wholeheartedly: We feel the fans, we hear them. I love these fans, they’re the best in the country. Just keep supporting us and see what happens.”
Marrow tells fans to give Bush Hamdan some time
Vince Marrow’s primary job is attracting talented players to join the Kentucky football roster. He’s done a pretty great job as of late.

College Football Playoff rankings revealed
The 2024 recruiting class had seven four-star talents, many of which have played as true freshmen, and finished ranked No. 25. The 2025 class is shaping up to be one of their best yet. It currently ranks No. 22 in the country. They just landed a four-star tight end, Mikkel Skinner. Marrow alluded to a Top 200 visitor that was in town over the weekend, Dawayne Galloway, and shared some excitement about a running back that can bring some physicality to the rushing attack next year. Marquise Davis is very well on his way to being the best RB prospect to ever sign with this school.
Kentucky needs good players, but do fans trust that coaches will put them in a position to succeed? Despite the piss-poor results during his first year as the Cats’ play-caller, Marrow has confidence in offensive coordinator Bush Hamdan.
“Let me just say this: Bush Hamdan is a really sharp young man,” he said. “We already had our players picked before we hired him, and sometimes as a coordinator, you have to fit to what the personnel is. … Just give Bush Hamdan some time, because he just got in here. We’re playing with a lot of guys, a lot of young guys, a lot of guys are banged up and they’re coming back.”
Vince Marrow had an unenviable task on Monday night. His measured call to action may not make an immediate difference. It’s not only hard for the players to get up off the mat after multiple losses, it’s tough on the fans too.
