Vince Marrow says Will Levis has No. 1 draft pick potential
Will Levis has emerged as a clear first-round draft selection in 2023, with several way-too-early mock drafts including the Kentucky gunslinger in the top 10. Fox Sports, CBS Sports, The Draft Network and PFF have all highlighted Levis as a top quarterback off the board.
Just how high can Levis go next year? Vince Marrow says the sky is the limit for the Kentucky star.
Had he come out this year, NFL teams told Marrow that Levis would have likely been a second-round pick and among the top quarterbacks taken in a weak draft class at the position.
“(His potential) is through the roof,” he told KSR on WLAP Sunday Morning Sports Talk. “I was told by a couple of NFL guys if Will had come out this year — and now I see why — he probably would have been an early second-round guy and one of the first quarterbacks picked.”
Levis finished his debut campaign in Lexington with 2,826 passing yards and 24 touchdowns to go with 13 interceptions. He completed 66.0% of his passes to finish with an overall passer rating of 148.3. On the ground, Levis added 376 yards and nine scores on 107 attempts.
He already thrived in year one in a pro-style offense under Liam Coen. Now with former San Francisco 49ers QB coach Rich Scangarello leading the offense in year two, Marrow believes Levis could not only be the first quarterback off the board in 2023, but the first player overall.

“I think Will’s talent was really developed with Liam (Coen) and now with Rich (Scangarello),” Marrow said. “I think Will has the potential to be No. 1.”
What’s going to push him to that top spot? His work ethic, with Marrow comparing the 6-foot-3, 230-pound quarterback to RoboCop.
“His work ethic, you just can’t describe it. He’s grounded,” Marrow said. “This young man is like RoboCop, he is just really geared in. I could really see the sky being the limit. He could go No. 1 overall.
“I am putting my money on Will that he will put himself and us in a good position next season.”
Kentucky has had serious draft success in recent years, highlighted by first-, second- and third-round picks. Could Levis become the program’s first No. 1 overall pick since Tim Couch in 1999? Vince Marrow has his money on him.
