VJ Edgecombe to decide between Kentucky, Duke and Baylor on Sunday
The time has come for 2024 five-star guard VJ Edgecombe to make his decision. The top-five prospect will announce his college decision on Sunday at halftime of the 7:30 p.m. ET game between Montverde and Prolific Prep at the Spalding Hoophall Classic in Springfield, MA, live on ESPN2.
His finalists? Baylor, Duke and Kentucky.
Edgecombe, a native of the Bahamas, is the No. 5 overall prospect and No. 2 shooting guard in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.
Previously outside the standout guard’s top 10, Kentucky ramped up its efforts in recent months with several in-person visits to earn an official visit and make the final cut.

“The visit was great to be honest,” Edgecombe told On3’s Joe Tipton. “Getting to know Coach Cal more, a legendary coach. Getting to know him more was one of the best things of the visit. Seeing the players, how they develop.”
Duke was seen as the heavy favorite early in his recruitment, but Kentucky and Baylor have given the athletic two-way guard something to think about.
Will he be a Cat? We’ll find out Sunday evening.
