Vols fans changing their tone on Will Levis in Nashville
As expected, Tennessee Vols fans quickly changed their tone about the Tennessee Titans selecting Will Levis out of Kentucky with a second-round pick in last month’s NFL Draft. The Titans initially passed on Levis with the eleventh pick in the first round during a humbling night on primetime TV for the rookie. When he went undrafted from the green room, UT fans took glee in the former Wildcats’ fall from a top-10 projection to an internet punching bag.
Then when the Titans traded up to draft Levis with the second pick of the second round, several Vols fans further piled on the Levis shaming rather than offering up support for their pro team’s new quarterback of the future. Many of the comments under the Titans’ social media posts about Levis are antagonistic toward the new gunslinger in two-tone blue. It’s an example of how unpleasant it can be for Kentucky fans who share a favorite NFL franchise with some of the most obnoxious fans in sports.
To those Vols fans reading this, we, UK fans, put our full support behind former Detroit Lions practice participant Josh Dobbs at quarterback for the Titans in a must-win game last season. So, you can put on your big kid pants and cheer for a rookie with a high upside who played college ball in Lexington. And if not, I will take your tickets.

But back to the conversation of Levis and the negativity surrounding him online. His new home team support improved over the weekend when Vols fans stopped tweeting “BuT hE LoSt tO tha VaWls” long enough to look into Levis’s potential.
And one throw at Titans’ rookie mini-camp last weekend has many of them searching for banana costumes online.
