It’s a stressful day in the National Football League as teams trim their rosters from 90 to 53 players for the upcoming season. At least one former Kentucky Wildcat got some good news this morning. The New York Giants will activate Wan’Dale Robinson from the physically unable to perform (PUP) list, according to multiple reports. He will be eligible to practice this week and play for the Giants in the season-opener vs. the Dallas Cowboys on September 10.

Robinson tore his ACL in Week 11 last year. Cruelly, the injury occurred during Robinson’s best game yet. In the Nov. 20 loss to the Lions, he had nine catches for 100 yards. In his rookie year, he totaled 23 receptions on 31 targets for 227 yards and one touchdown in six games. At Kentucky, Robinson left his mark in the record books, totaling a school-record 104 catches and 1,334 receiving yards in his single season in Lexington after transferring from Nebraska. The Frankfort, Ky. native had six 100-yard games, which is second on Kentucky’s single-season list, and totaled seven touchdowns.

The Giants also cut veteran wide slot receiver Jamison Crowder and have some more roster moves to make in the receiver room ahead of today’s 4 p.m. deadline. Clearly, Robinson is a big part of the Giants’ plans for 2023.
