Wan'Dale Robinson Tears ACL, Ends Rookie Season
In the middle of the best game of his young NFL career, former Kentucky Wildcat Wan’Dale Robinson suffered a torn ACL. Monday morning New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll announced Robinson’s rookie season is over.
During Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions, Robinson was targeted 13 times by QB Daniel Jones. He caught nine passes for 100 yards, the first 100-yard game of his career. Following his ninth reception, Robinson was sent to the sideline with the right knee injury.
Injuries sidelined the rookie from Frankfort throughout much of the first half of his first NFL season. In the opener against Tennessee he suffered a strained patella. Coupled with a hamstring issue, Robinson was sidelined for four games. Prior to Sunday’s game he had picked up 127 yards and a touchdown on 14 receptions through four games for the 7-3 New York Giants.
Sadly, Kentucky fans have seen this script before. Last year Landon Young suffered a season-ending injury in his first career start. Fortunately, the Kentucky kid bounced back and actually returned to the starting lineup this Sunday for the New Orleans Saints.

Debating College Football Playoff selections
Wan’Dale Robinson spent one injury-free season in Lexington. The Nebraska transfer rewrote the Kentucky football record book with new single-season highs in receptions (104) and receiving yards (1,334). He scored seven touchdowns and put them on his back in the final drive of the Citrus Bowl to help the Wildcats secure a 10-win season.
It has been a rocky start for Wan’Dale Robinson. Despite the initial setback, this former Kentucky Mr. Football still has what it takes to become a star in the National Football League.
