Wandale Robinson’s trophy case just got a little more crowded.

Earlier today the Kentucky commit earned the title Mr. Football.  Robinson was given the award at his future home, Kroger Field, during this weekend’s state championship games.  His future head coach was by his side just before he received the award.

In a strange twist, Wandale could receive two Mr. Football awards. This award was given by the Kentucky Football Coaches Association.  They created their own distinction separate from the AP for a variety of reasons, namely because only 15-20 media members from the western part of the state voted for recent winners.  They could select Robinson as their Mr. Football at the end of the calendar year.

It was Robinson’s second big award of the week.  He also was given the Paul Hornung Award by the Louisville Quarterback Club.

Robinson finished his high school career second in all-time scoring.  He rushed for 1,973 yards and 30 touchdowns, racked up 725 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns. Robinson also thew a pair of touchdown passes and returned two punts for scores.

The Frankfort native plans on signing with Kentucky in December and enrolling in January.
