WATCH: Aaron Bradshaw and other 'Cats participate in father-son camp

Aaron Bradshaw, Ugonna Onyenso, and Reed Sheppard were among the Kentucky basketball players participating in John Calipari’s father-son camp this weekend.
Last week we saw videos from the Johnson Center of Rob Dillingham and Adou Thierro showing off their athleticism by blocking and dunking on a hoard of grade schoolers. While I have yet to see similar social media posts floating around the Internet this weekend, we have seen players doing some basic drills to go along with Bradshaw and Onyenso goofing off with LEX18’s Kinsey Lee and her camera.
Seeing these guys enjoying themselves and interacting with the youth of Big Blue Nation is heart-warming and brings a welcomed ray of light to an otherwise gloomy offseason. However, one can’t help but also notice how well Aaron Bradshaw is moving around for a person with a reported foot injury.
Lee even quote-tweeted Sham Charania’s bomb about Bradshaw’s hairline foot fracture in the aforementioned bounce pass drill video. There are other stories floating around from the camp that Bradshaw played some light one-on-one in little-to-no apparent discomfort.

Ultimately, this doesn’t change much. Bradshaw’s impending surgery will still likely keep the 7’1″ center power forward out of action for a couple of months throughout the summer and into the fall. Still, it is good to see him moving around and gives hope that his injury isn’t overly serious.
On top of his physical ability, we heard more stories of Bradshaw showing off his infectiously positive personality. As one camper, JR Campbell, put it, “Aaron Bradshaw is the nicest young man I’ve met so far in 4 trips. He interacted with everyone he could, even remembered hearing my son’s bday is next week and stopped to wish him happy bday. This group as a whole is fun.”
