WATCH: Antonio Reeves, Oscar Tshiebwe recap loss to Georgia
Well, that wasn’t any fun. The Kentucky players would agree, too.
Following the Wildcats’ resume-killing 75-68 loss on the road to Georgia, the mood was not exactly cheery in the postgame press conferences. Head coach John Calipari spoke with reporters for less than five minutes before taking off. Shortly after, a pair of Kentucky players came out to give their thoughts on the tough-to-swallow defeat.
Seniors Antonio Reeves and Oscar Tshiebwe were made available to the media after the loss to break down what went wrong for the ‘Cats. While they weren’t actively spreading negativity, it’s obvious that this loss stings a bit more than most. Reeves and Tshiebwe both scored 20 points apiece, but their efforts weren’t nearly enough for a team that was missing two key rotational guards in Sahvir Wheeler and CJ Fredrick.

Reeves played all 40 minutes for Kentucky, which he noted after the fact may have played a role in him shooting just 2-10 from the field after the halftime break, while Tshiebwe was on the floor for 35 minutes with most of his production coming in the second half. Those two were the only reason UK even had a chance down the stretch.
The season certainly isn’t over for the ‘Cats, but there will be a major sense of urgency moving forward where things need to change and change fast.
