WATCH: Behind the scenes of Kenny Brooks' first day as Kentucky WBB head coach
Kenny Brooks aced his introductory press conference on Thursday afternoon. The new head coach of Kentucky women’s basketball exuded personality, appreciation, and a little bit of swagger.
It was surely a busy — yet exciting — day for Coach Brooks. And we actually know that for a fact — the folks over at UK Sports Video took us behind the scenes to show how it all went down. From athletic director Mitch Barnhart picking up Brooks on a private jet in the morning to Brooks walking into the Joe Craft Center for the first time a few hours later, everything about it will have you even more excited for the start of the Brooks tenure in Lexington.
My favorite part? A brief clip showing Brooks and Barnhart side-by-side in Brooks’ new office looking down on the Kentucky women’s basketball practice court.

“Now, practice facility, this is, for…?” Brooks slowly asked.
“You,” Barnhart replied.
“Just for me?”
“Just for you.”
“Bless you.”
Now that is a guy who knows what kind of opportunity he’s earned and has been given. Brooks wants to be at the University of Kentucky. Now it’s time to get to work.
