WATCH: Brad White, Anwar Stewart, Jalen Geiger post-practice interviews
Thursday’s practice marked the final media opportunity until Saturday’s annual Spring Game.
To help appease the Big Blue Nation’s thirst for more football content (and positive news in general), Kentucky Football gave the media some time to ask questions to a trio of Wildcats: defensive coordinator Brad White, defensive line coach Anwar Stewart, and junior defensive back Jalen Geiger.
White spent a good chunk of his time discussing the secondary situation, mentioning Andru Phillips and Joel Williams as guys who have stepped up during spring practice. He also mentioned Ohio State transfer Darrion Henry-Young as someone who can make an immediate impact as a pass rusher.
As for Stewart, he was quick to praise junior defensive tackle Octavious Oxendine, who is coming off a knee injury that sidelined him for the back half of the 2021 season. Redshirt sophomore defensive lineman Sam Anaele was another player that Stewart is high on, saying he’s coming along nicely throughout practice.

Geiger closed out the media session, discussing how the opposing wide receivers have really shown out early on, particularly freshman Dane Key and Virginia Tech transfer Tayvion Robinson. Like Coach White, Geiger also mentioned Phillips as a defensive back that has stood out.
Hear from all three ‘Cats below. Saturday’s Spring Game is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. EST kickoff at Kroger Field and will be broadcast live on the SEC Network+.
