On Monday, Mark Pope and Kenny Brooks spoke at the 2024 Wildcat Tipoff Luncheon at Churchill Downs to preview the upcoming basketball season with fans from the Greater Louisville UK Alumni Club.
KSR was on-site to catch it all. We’ve already shown you Mark Pope’s time behind the mic, but now, here’s Kenny Brooks’ time too. Brooks brought junior transfer forward Teonni Key with him to the luncheon.
To start things off, Brooks talked about the Big Blue Nation and why he ultimately chose to come to Kentucky, and he then quickly dove into his roster. Following that, he touched on what is going to allow this team to reach its potential.

Additionally, Brooks touched on a sentiment that he’s held since he first stepped in Lexington — that he wants Kentucky basketball and UK Athletics in general to be a brand bigger than any one individual sport.
“When Coach Pope wins, we win. When Coach Stoops wins, we win,” he said at the luncheon.
