WATCH: Chris Stapleton Sings the National Anthem at Super Bowl LVII
Chris Stapleton made the Commonwealth proud. The Kentucky native who was raised in Johnson County had the honor of singing the National Anthem ahead of Super Bowl LVII. The country music superstar brought his A-game.
Each year a popular prop bet is picking exactly how long the performer will sing the Super Bowl National Anthem. The over/under line was set at 125 seconds. Under bettors cashed tickets when he finished the Star Spangled Banner in 121 seconds. See every glorious second from Kentucky’s finest.
Chris Stapleton was so good, emotions overwhelmed Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni. The first time coach in the Super Bowl was moved to tears as Stapleton belted out the song.

An 8-time Grammy winner, Chris Stapleton is used to singing on big stages at football stadiums. Country music fans flocked to Lexington this summer for the first ever show at Kroger Field, “A Concert for Kentucky.” He was back in town just a few months later, once again raising money for charity. This time Mark Stoops introduced Chris Stapleton at the Kentucky Rising concert, a star-studded benefit for the Eastern Kentucky communities that were devastated by flooding in July.
Chris Stapleton is no stranger to the action on the gridiron. Once upon a time he was a head-buster at Johnson Central. When Tim Couch was an All-American in the mid-90s, the future No. 1 overall pick took a lick from the future country music superstar. See for yourself.
