WATCH: Dancing Oscar Hernandez Turns Up at Rupp Arena

Oscar Tshiebwe was not the only Oscar to get the Rupp Arena crowd on its feet Saturday afternoon. Fans in the stands were treated to an ELECTRIC second half performance from one Oscar Hernandez.
Known by some as simply, “Dancing Oscar,” the performer gained notoriety as a contestant on season 12 of America’s Got Talent. The extra large dancer made it all the way to the quarterfinals before he was eliminated in the reality competition. Even though he did not take home the crown, he’s found a way to make a living by performing for fans at basketball games across America.
Most folks around the BBN thought he was just another guy in the crowd who was really into the dance competition on the jumbotron. Dancing Oscar then slid onto the court and kicked it up a notch, getting the entire Rupp Arena crowd up on its feet.

After Oscar hit the splits, Auburn didn’t stand a chance. You might credit Kentucky’s second half performance to Antonio Reeves‘ three-pointers, but it’s clear those moves are what gave the Wildcats all the momentum they needed to blow out Auburn. Fortunately, anyone who missed him at Rupp received an encore performance Sunday afternoon at Memorial Coliseum.
He wasn’t the only dancer that had a big day at Rupp Arena. During halftime Andrew Schmitt, a member of the UK cheer team, got down on one knee and proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Kylie McDonnell, a member of the UK STUNT team. No, Schmitt did not wear his uniform for the proposal, but it was still an exciting surprise in front of 20,000 of their closest friends and family at Rupp Arena.
