WATCH: ESPN Tours Kentucky Facilities with John Calipari

ESPN brought out some heavy hitters to Lexington this week for UK Pro Day. The four-letter network wasn’t just there to watch the Wildcats scrimmage watch other at Rupp Arena. John Calipari brought SportsCenter anchor Kevin Negandhi and the ESPN cameras into his office to get a closer look at Coach Cal’s home away from home.

“My wife calls me a hoarder,” Calipari said. Ellen might be right.

Calipari’s office is a basketball museum that shows off the best moments throughout his Hall of Fame career. What’s amusing is that he wasn’t too eager to show off his Final Four rings or basketballs from big games. He pointed out a posted Lil Wayne gave to him in his office and the shoes Drake made for him in the “Coach Cal pack.”

There was plenty of opportunity for storytime during his trip through the Joe Craft Center. He shared a tale about Jamal Murray chucking up a left-handed scoop shot in practice. He also retold the story about Michael Kidd-Gilchrist‘s block in the National Championship game. The Indiana series has been back in the news recently as well, so Calipari made time to highlight the time John Wall dunked on the Hoosiers, “the basketball tam, the cheerleaders, everybody.”

It’s not all a closer look at the memorabilia in John Calipari’s office. Kentucky‘s head coach shows us where the Cats’ watch film, hang out and practice together. It’s a must-watch for all diehard Kentucky basketball fans.

The 30-minute feature was made for YouTube. John Calipari and the Kentucky basketball program also received the spotlight on the 6 pm SportsCenter during Wednesday night’s pro day. In the middle of the action at Rupp Arena Calipari sat court-side with Negandhi and Seth Greenberg to talk about this year’s team.
