Tuesday was a big day at the Joe Craft Center.

Earlier today, the Kentucky men’s basketball team held its first practice of the fall ahead of the upcoming 2023-24 season. It was also the first day of practice for the women’s basketball team. The fine folks over at UK have already released a highlight video from the men’s practice that gives the Big Blue Nation a sneak peek at what went down, which you can find below. KSR’s Jack Pilgrim also has some insider notes on the Wildcats over at KSBoard that you’ll want to check out.

In the below video, we first see head coach John Calipari addressing his team, telling them about what lies ahead for the opening practice of the fall. The message? Get ready to be uncomfortable.

“I’m gonna be adding stuff today, because I want you to be uncomfortable,” Calipari says. “I want you to — damn I better be focused or I’m not gonna be able to do this stuff. Understand I want you to be that way.”

From there, the video is nothing but 25 seconds of highlights that will have you ready for basketball season to start tomorrow — an Antonio Reeves pull-up, a DJ Wagner stepback, an Adou Thiero backboard-slapping block, and lots and lots and lots of alley-oops.
