WATCH: Highlights from Kentucky's 87-83 win over No. 9 North Carolina
Now that was a fun basketball game…
On Saturday night in Atlanta, No. 14 Kentucky led for all but three minutes against No. 9 North Carolina in a close 87-83 win over the Tar Heels. North Carolina had the game’s two highest scorers — 27 from RJ Davis and 20 from Cormac Ryan — but an all-around effort from Kentucky allowed the Wildcats to seal the win down the stretch. UK moves to 8-2 on the season while UNC drops to 7-3
Before you dive into the full-game highlights below courtesy of UK Sports Video, how about some need-to-know stats? Kentucky won the battle on the glass 42-32 and hauled in 12 more offensive rebounds than North Carolina. Not bad against a team with Armando Bacot roaming the paint.
With 7-foot sophomore center Ugonna Onyenso making his debut, he recorded three of the Wildcats’ season-high nine rejections. Adou Theiro blocked four shots of his own, a career-high. Kentucky’s 14 turnovers matched a season-high, but 17 miscues by UNC evened the field.
That’s enough blabbering from me though. Let’s dive into the highlights. Enjoy this one, BBN.
