WATCH: Highlights from Rob Dillingham's regular-season finale with OTE
Prior to watching Kentucky fall on the road to the Georgia Bulldogs in demoralizing fashion on Saturday, the KSR crew made a quick pitstop in Atlanta the day before to check out one of the program’s future guards.
On Friday night, five-star Wildcat signee Robert Dillingham and the Cold Hearts of Overtime Elite took on the City Reapers, headlined by future top-five NBA Draft picks Ausar and Amen Thompson, in what was both team’s regular-season finale. The game was broadcast live on Amazon Prime, setting up Dillingham with a big stage against two future pros.
While the Cold Hearts wound up falling 88-84 to the talented Thompson twins, Dillingham had plenty of notable moments. The 6-foot-2 combo guard finished with 12 points, six assists, two rebounds, and three steals, although he struggled with his shot, going 5-20 from the field for the game, including a 2-6 mark from beyond the arc. Dillingham’s first-quarter performance (2-10 shooting) left much to be desired but he settled in the rest of the way, even powering the Cold Hearts on a crucial 25-5 run in the third quarter that made it a tight contest down the stretch.

“Dillingham would reel defenders in with his advanced dribble moves before attacking for a paint touch,” KSR’s Jack Pilgrim, who was in attendance, wrote in his recap after the game. “There, he would be in position for dump-offs to the post, kicks to the perimeter for catch-and-shoot looks or finishes for himself at the basket. And more often than not, he made the right decisions, playing off what the defenders gave him to great success. He looked the part of an elite lead guard capable of playing the one at the next level rather than an off-ball scorer.”
Afterward, Dillingham chatted it up with KSR for a quick conversation where he mentioned that he intends to arrive on UK’s campus in May. Get ready for what’s in store with Dillingham once he gets to Lexington by watching his highlights from Friday’s outing below.
