In the latest installment of their “My First Million” YouTube series, GQ Sports gave fans an inside look at former Wildcat PJ Washington’s basketball career and spending habits. Washington was selected by the Charlotte Hornets with the 12th pick in last year’s draft and signed a 4-year, $17.8 million contract.

Among the topics Washington talked about:

  • How cool it was that he and Tyler Herro, who GQ Sports featured in the same series several months ago, went back-to-back in the draft
  • The financial plan he, his father, and his financial planner worked out
  • His first purchase of two apartments in Charlotte—one for himself and one for his family
