WATCH: Jasper Johnson GOES OFF for 31 points in front of Mark Pope

Jasper Johnson‘s homecoming was an overwhelming success, the future Wildcat going for an impressive 31 points in front of Kentucky head coach Mark Pope — with special guests Lee Anne Pope, Malachi Moreno, Travis Perry and Grant Darbyshire also in attendance.
Back where it all started at Woodford County — albeit in the brand-new school and gym, which opened this winter — his RWE squad earned a tight 71-70 victory over Huntington Prep (WV) in the Court XIV Classic, an event honoring the late Alvis Johnson. Johnson hit five 3-pointers to lead all scorers and earn MVP honors.
He wasn’t the only high-profile player in attendance, either. Tay Kinney, a top-20 prospect in the class of 2026 who holds an early Kentucky offer, added 13 points in the win, as well. Pope was there for Johnson first and foremost, obviously, but you better believe he kept an eye on the future target.
There wasn’t an empty seat in the house of the 2,000-seat venue, fans packed in shoulder to shoulder with the event hitting max capacity an hour before tip-off. Johnson made sure to put on a show back home in Versailles with all of his closest friends and family.
