Watch Jaxson Robinson and Lamont Butler preview Kentucky's next game
Jaxson Robinson and Lamont Butler answered basketball-themed questions on the eve of Kentucky‘s return to Rupp Arena from a 17-day drought between home games. Robinson and Butler spoke for nearly 20 minutes to preview the Wildcats’ next game, the final non-conference matchup of the regular season against Brown.
Minutes into the conversation, it became very clear that ball screen defense is Mark Pope’s biggest coaching point lately. Robinson and Butler revealed that it has been a top priority behind the scenes at the Joe Craft Center as Kentucky ramps back up from a short holiday break.

“That’s what we’ve been hammering ever since we got back to campus,” said Robinson. “We’ve just been hammering ball screen defense and trying to get better. Coach Pope thinks that we can be one of the better ball screen defensive teams in the country, but it’s a lot of progress to be made, and I think we took some steps forward over the break.”
There was also talk of shooting more 3-pointers, the Brown Bears, Butler’s extra time in New York (he did not get engaged), and other matters. Watch the replay of the conversation below for several more comments from two of Kentucky’s starting five.
