WATCH: Kenny Brooks previews upcoming game at Purdue
Kenny Brooks took some time to preview the upcoming game at Purdue in a press conference before the team officially departs for West Lafayette. Brooks spoke about what the Boilermakers bring as a team and what that game could look like.
“They’re probably as young as we are,” Brooks said. “With their post position, they got one kid who’s, I think, a graduate, who plays a lot, but their two centers are freshmen, but they’re strong, and they’re gaining experience, or they’re gaining confidence. Then, they have a lot of experience on the guard level. So, they’re going to come in, and they’re coming off of a tough loss against Maryland, which they probably could have, should have, won that basketball game.”

He added, “Katie [Gearlds] does good job with that group. They’re playing at home, so it’s going to be tough. Nothing’s going to be a cakewalk. You’re playing a power four team and in the Big Ten, but it’s a good matchup for us because we play similarly. We kind of guard the paint runner stuff. So, it’ll be a good matchup for us and a good test for us. Anytime you can go on the road and have an opportunity to win a basketball game, you’re gonna gain some valuable experience, and that’s something that we definitely need right now.”
