Watch KSR's Rapid Reaction after Kentucky beat Florida in the SEC opener
How about that for a Southeastern Conference opener, Big Blue Nation? Kentucky began SEC play with a thrilling win over sixth-ranked Florida on Saturday, crossing the century mark in a 106-100 victory. It was another slow start for the Wildcats, but a 16-0 first-half run flipped the script in UK’s favor, and the points continued to come in bunches until the end. The Gators never retook the lead.
For the winners, all but five points came from six players: Koby Brea with 23, Lamont Butler with 19, Otega Oweh with 16, Amari Williams with 15, and Andrew Carr and Jaxson Robinson with 12 each. It took all the points those guys could score because, to the Gators’ credit, they would not go away. Florida hit shots to stay in the fight until the final horn.
