WATCH: Maddie Scherr, Kentucky WBB teammates give facility tour
One of Kentucky women’s basketball’s 10 new additions (yes, 10) for the 2022-23 season, Maddie Scherr, has quite the social media following. Her Instagram account has over 30,000 followers and her TikTok over 20,000. But what we’re here to talk about today is a project she recently dropped on her YouTube page, which she shares with her boyfriend, Florida State WR Mycah Pittman, and has nearly 70,000 subscribers.
Scherr, who is originally from Florence, KY and spent two seasons at Oregon before transferring to Kentucky this spring, provided the Big Blue Nation with an inside look at the program on Tuesday. In her video, she took viewers through the Joe Craft Center and a regular day in her life, touring both the men’s and women’s facilities along the way. Scherr even handed the camera off to a few of her teammates, who gave their own tours.
The 10-minute video is a unique peek behind the curtain of what goes on in the daily life of a Kentucky basketball player. It was also a chance to see so many of the new faces on this year’s team, how they interact with each other, and what their personalities are like. From the looks of it, they all seem to be getting along quite nicely. Apparently, graduate guard Blair Green was even tabbed as “coach” while the coaching staff has been out recruiting to begin the month of July.
