Watch Mark Pope preview Kentucky's next game vs. Alabama
After defending home court against the Aggies, Kentucky is on to Alabama this upcoming weekend, another top-15 matchup for the Wildcats. Saturday’s game is an early one, scheduled for noon in Rupp Arena.
On Thursday, Mark Pope held an invite-only Q&A session on UK’s campus, where he previewed his team’s next game, opponent, and more. The conversation opened with a question about Alabama head coach Nate Oats, to which Pope replied, “What Nate Oats has done at Alabama is incredible, right? All-time great season last year, and he’s, you know, the program is in a great position, and he’s playing a fun style of basketball, and really, really been playing great basketball.”

From there, Pope and his guests discussed preparing for the Crimson Tide, Oats’ style of play, the difficulty of the SEC, Kentucky learning more and more by the day, and even some chess talk. He’s working on a publicized chess match with Collin Chandler.
Pope also shared a lot about his own team, including a lengthy answer about synergy and love that you will want to hear from Pope himself.
