WATCH: Mark Pope previews Arkansas, John Calipari's return to Rupp Arena
All eyes will be on Lexington this Saturday night when John Calipari makes his long-awaited return to Rupp Arena.
To preview what’s in store for No. 12 Kentucky’s matchup with the struggling Arkansas Razorbacks, head coach Mark Pope spoke with the media on Thursday afternoon. Of course, he discussed Calipari coming back to his former team and the emotions that will come with it for both Calipari and the Big Blue Nation. Will fans cheer or boo? Pope isn’t concerning himself with that kind of stuff right now, but he did admit he loves the drama of it all.
Pope also touched on what he expects to see out of Arkansas, particularly former Wildcat players Adou Thiero and Zvonimir Ivisic. Pope made it sound like he even tried recruiting Ivisic to stay at UK. Other topics from the press conference include what Kentucky is doing for the Coaches Versus Cancer program, brief injury updates on Andrew Carr and Lamont Butler, and much more.
