WATCH: Mark Pope recaps No. 9 Kentucky's loss to Vanderbilt
Kentucky outscored Vanderbilt by nine in the second half, but a terrible, ugly, no-good first half proved too much to overcome for the Wildcats in a 74-69 road defeat in Nashville.
After the loss, head coach Mark Pope spoke with reporters to discuss what went wrong. He touched on Vanderbilt’s defensive pressure, rebounding struggles, the importance of executing down the stretch, and much more. He made sure to commend Kentucky’s comeback early in the second half and the adjustments his team made, but any positives are tough to accept after a loss like this one.

“They did a good job getting us on our heels,” Pope said. “Just super disappointing.”
Kentucky turned the ball over a season-high 17 times against the Commodores and scored a season-low 27 first-half points. Outside of a red-shooting stretch for roughly 12 minutes to open the second half, this was not the same team we’ve seen most of the season. Listen to everything else Pope had to say below.
