WATCH: Mark Stoops Speaks After Second Straight Loss
It’s the Monday of a game week, which means the ball got rolling with a Mark Stoops press conference at Kroger Field. Unlike the previous losses to Vanderbilt and South Carolina, he kept his opening statement brief following the disappointing loss to Florida. After extending condolences to the family of Lonny Demaree, he turned his attention to Auburn.
“Looking forward to getting back at it. We got another challenge here this week with Auburn,” said the Kentucky head coach.
“Auburn’s a team, you look at the record and everybody’s going to think that it’s a bad football team. It comes down to turnovers for them. They’re a very good team. Turnover margin has been the big issue. So for us, it’s another big challenge. We got to worry about ourselves and getting better and putting it all together and playing a good football game.”
Stoops was rather short in most of his responses. That doesn’t mean the press conference didn’t feature a few unusual moments. He typically refrains from commenting on officials but Stoops went back and forth with reporters for a few questions on the subject, particularly a few questionable spots.
