The people who brought KSR and On3 together are now speaking together publicly. KSR founder Matt Jones joined Shannon Terry, the man who created On3, on the second edition of For the Record.

Kentucky Sports Radio was the first fan site to join the On3 network. It was important to start with a bang, and as Terry explains it, nothing makes a bigger splash than bringing the biggest fan site in the country to On3.

“I can honestly say that I know every single team site, fan site, every publication that’s ever existed. I’ve either been a part of either founding them, acquiring them or working with them through my days at Rivals, 247 and now On3,” said Terry.

“I know all the independents and I can honestly say I have never, ever seen anything like KSR. I’m not even talking about the quality of the work. I’m just talking about the numbers, the empirical data. We have some monster sites on On3. KSR is 3x larger than our second best and it is every month. It’s a voice in the Kentucky market. It’s a voice in the state of Kentucky. It’s a national voice that represents.”

Matt Jones shared the origin story of Kentucky Sports Radio and what drove him to be successful in this industry. That’s not all the two touched on in this edition of For the Record. Highlights include:

  • The relationship between John Calipari and Matt Jones
  • What did people get wrong about Will Levis?
  • Louisville fans have beef with On3
  • A lesson Matt Jones learned from losing an argument
