WATCH: Mike Edwards earns third Pick-6 of NFL career
Former Kentucky star Mike Edwards continues to make plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Now in his fourth season in the NFL, the former Wildcat recorded a game-clinching pick-six in his team’s game against the New Orleans Saints. Up 13-3 with 4:24 to go, Edwards snagged a pass in traffic and took it 68 yards to the house, sealing the victory.
It was the Cincinnati, OH native’s third pick-six of his career, tied for the most in the NFL since he entered the league in 2019. Only Minkah Fitzpatrick (Steelers) and Marcus Peters (Ravens) have recorded three in the same span.

It was the sixth interception for Edwards in his young career. He’s also racked up 106 total tackles (74 solo), 16 pass breakups and one sack in 47 career games.

Prior to his time in Tampa, Edwards played at Kentucky from 2014-18, never missing a game in that span with 51 total outings and 44 consecutive starts. In that time, the 5-foot-10 safety totaled 318 career tackles, making him just the 19th player in school history with 300 or more tackles. He ranks second in UK history in tackles among defensive backs, trailing only Darryl Bishop (348 from 1971-73).
Following his standout senior campaign, Edwards was selected by the Buccaneers in the third round with the 99th pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
