Even in the offseason, there is no shortage of talking points when it comes to UK Athletics.

On Friday afternoon, University of Kentucky athletic director Mitch Barnhart sat down in front of the microphone to address a room full of reporters for the first time in roughly 10 months. The long-time AD spoke at length with the media, covering a multitude of topics along the way. Most notably, Barnhart announced that alcohol sales will be expanded to cover all athletic venues this fall, including football and basketball games, following a successful trial run this spring with baseball and softball.

Additionally, Barnhart discussed the many facility upgrades happening across UK’s campus such as the new turf installation at Kroger Field, the Nutter Field House and Memorial Coliseum renovations, and the new indoor track-and-field facility. He also dove into season ticket sales for football, which are currently outpacing sales from this time last year.
