Oscar Tshiebwe had himself a pretty nice Sunday in New Orleans.

The Kentucky Wildcats big man received the 2022 Naismith Trophy as the Men’s College Player of the Year. He became just the second UK player ever to win the award, joining Anthony Davis’ 2012 campaign. Tshiebwe has now won five of the six major National Player of the Year awards.

Wearing a slick royal blue suit at the Naismith Awards alongside head coach John Calipari and the rest of the Kentucky coaching staff, Tshiebwe got to meet the likes of Bill Walton and others before winning the Naismith Trophy and giving a speech to the crowd. He later joined the CBS Sports Network set to talk about his season at Kentucky and what playing for the program has meant to him. He also discussed his upcoming decision to either return to UK or enter the NBA Draft.
