La Familia is headed to the Sweet 16 of The Basketball Tournament.

Kentucky’s alumni team took down The Nawf, 81-64, on Sunday afternoon in Rupp Arena, advancing to the third round of the Lexington Regional as a result. Led by the lone non-Wildcat on the roster, Kerem Kanter (the younger brother of Enes) poured in 26 points and nine rebounds to lead La Familia to its second win in three days.

Eric Bledsoe added 16 points, nine rebounds, and five assists for La Familia with Nate Sestina chipping in four three-pointers and Willie Cauley-Stein blocking eight shots. The group of former ‘Cats got off to a slow start but cruised in the second half, setting up a showdown on Tuesday against Herd That with a spot in the quarterfinals on the line.

Following the action, I was joined by Drew Franklin, Mario Maitland, and Kerem Kanter himself for another edition of KSR’s Rapid Reaction, which you can watch below. Scroll down a bit more and you can also check out the postgame interviews with Kanter, Sestina, and head coach Tyler Ulis.

La Familia is now four victories away from locking up the winner-takes-all, $1 million grand prize.
