WATCH: Reece Potter is overqualified for his role at Kentucky -- that's great for the Wildcats

Kentucky’s depth in 2025-26 is going to be among the best in the country, and Reece Potter is a big reason why.
KSR’s Brandon Ramsey and Steven Peake hopped into the film room to break down what exactly Potter can bring to the Wildcats in Mark Pope‘s second season as head coach. Expectations aren’t particularly high for the 7-foot-1 native of Lexington, but that might not be a bad thing. Potter can spend the season developing his game at a Blue Blood program while still soaking up some frontcourt minutes along the way, especially with Jayden Quaintance expected to miss time early on.
Potter, who starred at Lexington Catholic in high school, started his college career at Miami (OH), where he spent his freshman and sophomore seasons. Across 56 games played for the RedHawks (11 as a starter), he posted 6.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per outing while shooting 46.6 percent from the field and 36.7 percent from deep. That’s a pretty good player for someone projected to be near the back end of Kentucky’s depth chart.
