WATCH: Rob Dillingham and DJ Wagner excel at Nike Academy
Before they return to Lexington for the start of fall classes, Kentucky freshmen, Rob Dillingham and DJ Wagner, spent a few days just outside Portland, Oregon to participate in the Nike Academy. The skills camp featured some of the top NBA prospects in the upcoming years including players in both high school and college. Dillingham and Wagner were the two Kentucky representatives.
According to Jonathan Giovony of ESPN and Draft Express, DJ Wagner showed off his handle, burst, budding shot-making, and live-dribble passing. Giovony projects Wagner to be the 7th overall pick in his most recent 2024 NBA mock draft.
As for Rob Dillingham, Gionvony was also impressed. He projects Dillingham has an early second-round pick in 2024 but noted Dillingham’s jumper looked clean and highlighted how the Kentucky guard is slippery off the bounce and tough to contain one on one.
Slippery. Clean. Shifty. Dillingham is forcing sports writers to bust out the thesaurus for new adjectives to describe his game. No matter what words are used, Kentucky fans are excited these two guys are on their team.

Other Nike Academy attendees who stood out to Giovony included the No. 1 and 2 ranked players in the 2024 class, Cooper Flagg and Dylan Harper, as well as the No. 8 ranked prospect in 2024 and Kentucky target, Boogie Fland.
Of Fland, Gionony said he showed impressive burst, burst, pace, handle, and shot-making prowess.
Football season is right around the corner, but these types of reports make it tough not to keep one eye on basketball as well. It will be here quicker than a Rob Dillingham crossover.
