WATCH: SEC Nation goes to Dinner with QB Brock Vandagriff and the Kentucky Wildcats
We saw Brock Vandagriff sling the rock in his week one debut, but Big Blue Nation is still just getting to know the new Kentucky quarterback. That’s why the SEC Network is stepping in to help.
Ahead of Saturday’s edition of SEC Nation outside Kroger Field, Marty Smith spent some time with the avid outdoorsman. Instead of going outdoors, they went to dinner.
The SEC Network cameras joined Vandagriff and three other Wildcats — Josh Kattus, Ja’Mori Maclin, and Beau Allen — for a meal during Thursday night football. Ahead of the meal, Marty Smith scrolled through Vandagriff’s Instagram account and made a few observations. He never smiles for photos and he likes to rock a belt clip for his phone. Once they had some fun busting chops, Marty asked what’s going through Vandagriff’s head before his first SEC start.

“Be the frickin’ best you can be, do the best you can do, and wherever that goes, that’s just more blessings from God, in my opinion,” said Vandagriff. “He blessed me with talent. I’m just attacking every day with that attacking mindset.”
