It wasn’t the best day for Tai Wynyard and New Zealand in the FIBA World Cup, but they still looked awesome doing the Haka war dance before taking on Argentina. Check out Wynyard at the front of the group minutes before tip off:

Unfortunately, the dance didn’t do much to intimidate Argentina, who went on to win 74-70. Wynyard had three points, nine rebounds, and a team-high three blocks. The Tall Blacks may have lost, but kudos to them for rallying from a 15-point halftime deficit.

Wynyard started the FIBA World Cup with a bang, scoring 22 points and grabbing six rebounds in New Zealand’s opening round win over Korea. On Sunday, he had 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists vs. France. After finishing third in Group A pool play, New Zealand will take on the second-place team from Group B, which has yet to be determined.

Still think Wynyard needs to break out the Haka at Big Blue Madness….
