Tim Couch is a College Football Hall of Fame Quarterback. Now, he’s also the star of a Super Bowl ad for his alma mater.

The arrival of Mark Stoops has brought about many new traditions. Winning games is the most fun of those traditions. The Super Bowl ad has become a fun milestone during a slow time in the college football calendar year.

This year Kentucky did things a little differently. Instead of purchasing local ad time on the primary station in Lexington, they rolled out the Super Bowl commercial a day early. It debuted during halftime of Saturday’s Kentucky basketball game on WKYT. This evening it will air during halftime for those who view the big game on WYMT.

Amid an offseason that’s featured unexpected turnover on the offensive side of the ball, Kentucky went back to an offensive star to star in the Super Bowl commercial. Tim Couch learned in early January that he will finally be enshrined into the College Football Hall of Fame. During this promotion, the quarterback from Eastern Kentucky went back to his roots.

“Never forget where you come from or what it means. What it stands for: home, family, community. It’s made you who you are,” Couch says to open the Super Bowl commercial.

The background music wraps you in wistful nostalgia, yearning for another fall Saturday at Kroger Field. Take a closer look at this year’s Kentucky football Super Bowl ad.
