WE HAVE OUR FIRST FIGHT OF THE MARK POPE ERA
Remember that guy Ryan Lemond said he liked because he had a funny name during the pregame show? He’s conveniently become enemy No. 1 of Big Blue Nation for all and eternity. Call it the KSR curse?
Clash Peters, the dorkiest dork in the history of dorks, started a fight in Kentucky’s matchup vs. Georgia State on Friday night. A clown averaging 3.1 points per game, Peters undercut Amari Williams on a pass inside, leading to four total technical fouls handed out — two on the Panthers and two on the Wildcats. Koby Brea and Otega Oweh received them for defending their teammate while Zarique Nutter earned one for wrongly stepping up for a guy who deserves nothing good in this world. Peters, a zero-star recruit out of Raleigh, was somehow not kicked out of the game.
Mark Pope was there to split it all up because he wants peace, not war — and because he knew his guys were about to get busy.
This was the lame play leading to the fight:

The best (worst) part? He’s a Duke fan, and it all makes complete sense now. Peters is actually the nephew of former Blue Devil Cherokee Parks — also a dumb name — and there are pictures all over the internet of the Georgia State benchwarmer wearing Duke gear.

Mind you, this all started because Peters threw a cheap shot at Andrew Carr to close out the first half — among other nonsense because he is an unserious basketball player.
Someone still a little upset about the Champions Classic? It’ll all be OK, Clash. Enjoy your 15 minutes of fame and eternity in BBN hell.
