What's news in Oklahoma? Man arrested over Hello Kitty doll, Macumber, UKXC has Strong Showing
If you're going to commit fraud working a carnival booth, don't do it in Oklahoma. Oklahoma's own News9 reported that Frank Feikema was arrested on a charge of "violating the carnival fraud act" when he allowed a police officer to bypass the traditional carnival prize structure by paying $40, hitting one balloon with a dart, and winning his choice of the "larger prizes." After walking away with a new Hello Kitty doll, the officer returned and arrested Keikema. Keep it classy Oklahoma.

h/t news9.com[/caption] While Feikema was throwing away his promising career as a carny in Tusla, about an hour to the West UK's cross country teams were turning in another strong performance in Stillwater at the Cowboy Jamboree. After over two hours of weather delays, Cally Macumber continued her strong season, following up on her victory two weeks ago with another big "W", winning by 8 seconds with a time of 17:22. Fellow seniors Allison Peare, Anna Bostrom, and Taylor Wendler turned in strong performances as well, finishing 8th in 18:12, 12th in 18:24, and 22nd in 18:42 respectively. UK's top 5 was rounded out by Cassidy Hale in 26th with a time of 18:47. Although the Cats were edged by 22nd ranked Oklahoma State on their home course, the continued domination by Macumber, coupled with a much improved performance by Senior Anna Bostrom after a disappointing race two weeks ago, should leave this team feeling confident about their chances later this fall. On the men's side, Matt Hillenbrand returned to his place as UK's number one runner, finishing 13th in 25:04. Fellow senior Adam Kahlefieh was right behind Hillenbrand, finishing in 25:07 good for 15th place. Zach Beavin wasn't far behind, finishing in 23rd with a time of 25:14. James Brown and Jared Phillips were the final two scorers for UK, finishing 39th and 41st in 26:16 and 26:19. The men had a tough mountain to climb on the team side, as they were going up against three teams ranked in the top 30, including number one Oklahoma State and number two Northern Arizona (yes, Northern Arizona, who knew...). The Cats ended up placing 5th in the strong seven team field.
Both teams will return to action in only a week at the annual Greater Louisville Classic next Saturday, a race that should give the teams a better idea of where they stand nationally as the fast course always attracts many of the nation's best teams.
