"When 2 is actually not greater than 1"

by:Ally Tucker•10/02/13
I was the first student from my high school to take AP Calculus with the teacher I had to NOT receive a 5 on my AP test (Truly sorry that I ruined the streak sorry Mr. McCloskey), but I still know a little bit about math. For mathematical purposes, the number 2 is greater than the number 1. The quantity of 2 is larger than the quantity of 1. There's nothing earth shattering about that logic. But as with most things in this life, there are certain scenarios in which things change a bit. I've spent the day racking my brain, the brains of my Twitter followers (quite a few of the answers below came from you guys...kudos and thank you), and the brain of my friend Brandon Daulton to come up with other times in life when 2 is actually not greater than 1.    Other Times when 2 is actually NOT greater than 1:   - Rounds of the NBA draft.. most of Louisville's players would know - "Eyebrows"- Anthony Davis - Shirtless photographs of Rick Pitino - Seasons of the TV show Homeland - Lines on a pregnancy test... when you're 16 - Hit songs. People remember one hit wonders, but how many 2 hit wonders can you name? - Cargo pockets - World Wars - Items in your national championship display case Sweet 16 display case (What up, IU?) - Creepy Direct Messages accidentally sent as Tweets for the whole world to see - FX Channels - Free throws for Willie Cauley-Stein - Zellers - Plumlees - Hansbroughs - Tweets per week about your Fantasy Football Team - The "2 on 1 date" on The Bachelorette  (RIP Aaron Flener's Tuesday morning blog posts) - Saw sequels/Hostel sequels/Fast & Furious sequels - Screaming children - Fouls in a basketball game - 2 girls 1 c... can't in good conscience finish this sentence knowing my Mom reads KSR - Ex wives - Wives - Baby Mommas - Chainz - Seed in the NCAA tournament - Hours as Sandra Bullock...floating through the atmosphere... in a space suit... waiting for George Clooney to save you - Seasons under Billy Gillispie - NITs - Personalities - Games without a 3rd down conversion   And last but not least... Quarterbacks
