Where is Kentucky in ESPN's latest bowl projections?
The latest college football playoff rankings were released last night, and Alabama remained #1, followed by Clemson, Michigan, Washington, Ohio State, and Louisville. After losing to Mississippi State, Texas A&M fell all the way to eighth, followed by Auburn, making the SEC’s chances of getting two teams in the playoff very, very slim. How does that affect the rest of the potentially bowl eligible teams in the league?
ESPN’s Alex Scarborough just put out his latest bowl projections, and predicts Kentucky will end up in the Belk Bowl in Charlotte on December 29. That game kicks off at 5:30 p.m., which would make for a Big Blue evening, with the basketball team’s game at Ole Miss scheduled to begin at 8 p.m.
Meanwhile, Scarborough’s colleagues Mark Schlabach and Brett McMurphy project Kentucky to play Baylor in the Liberty Bowl (December 30) and Houston in the Birmingham Bowl (December 29) respectively. I’ll take Memphis the day after the Ole Miss game, please. We can go see the Peabody ducks. It’ll be great.
