Where Kentucky commits stand in updated On3 2022 basketball rankings
With the class of 2022 inching closer and closer to graduation, it’s time for another recruiting rankings update as those recruits prepare to jet off to college or the professional ranks.
On Monday, On3 updated its top 150 basketball player rankings for the class of 2022, although two of Kentucky’s three commits took a sizable tumble. Chris Livingston went down 15 spots and Skyy Clark dropped 23 spots while Cason Wallace moved up one. Livingston and Wallace remain as five-stars with Clark checking in as a four-star.
There was plenty of movement in the top 150, with a few dozen new entry players making the list. Most notably, Duke’s Kyle Filipowski is the new No. 1, jumping 13 spots, while Texas’ Dillon Mitchell is behind him at No. 2, jumping 18 spots. Duke’s Dereck Lively II fell from No. 1 to No. 3. Leonard Miller, a 6-foot-10 forward out of Canada who recently grew six inches, was the biggest riser, going from unranked to a five-star prospect and No. 11 overall.
Now let’s check in on where the incoming Wildcats stand.
No. 5 Cason Wallace (old ranking: No. 6) – 6-3, 175-pound CG
Wallace has been the steadiest of Kentucky’s commitments thanks to his two-way abilities. He’s an incredibly versatile guard on both ends of the floor who can run point or play off the ball on offense while defending the team’s best ball handler on the opposite end. Wallace has been a rising top 20 recruit for over a year now and just continues to look better and better. He expects to take over a large and immediate role in the UK backcourt next season.

No. 19 Chris Livingston (old ranking: No. 4) – 6-7, 210-pound SF
Livingston has played a solid first season for Oak Hill Academy after transferring there for his senior year. The step-up in competition hasn’t appeared to rattle him all that much, either. He’s a lengthy wing player who likes to handle the ball and currently plays in a similar offensive system to what John Calipari runs at Kentucky. His fit with the ‘Cats should be a smooth transition to the college level, especially if his shot can continue to develop.
No. 44 Skyy Clark (old ranking: No. 21) – 6-3, 200-pound PG
Clark has been dropping across the board in most ranking services, mostly due to his lack of availability. A significant knee injury kept him off the court for about five months and he didn’t return from rehab until January. Since then, he’s slowly been working his way back to pre-injury form and has been looking more comfortable as of late. There’s no denying his passing IQ and shot-making, but his shortage of on-court action appears to be hurting his stock heading down the stretch of his high school career.
