Where Kentucky targets stand in On3's updated 2024 basketball player rankings
John Calipari has his eyes focused on plenty of the top high school juniors across the country.
On Monday, our good friends over at On3 updated its 2024 basketball player rankings for the first time since early July. This time around, the rankings have expanded from just 75 prospects to a Top 150. Eight of On3’s 10 five-star recruits have either received an offer from Kentucky or are receiving significant interest.
6-foot-5 shooting guard Tre Johnson, a top UK target, continues to hold down the top spot while another 6-foot-5 shooting guard, Ian Jackson, was bumped down one spot to No. 3 overall. Jackson is arguably Calipari’s top prospect from the ’24 class. Both players have publicly announced offers from the ‘Cats.
Elsewhere, the Kentucky coaching staff is high on several of On3’s top-ranked players. Among the updated Top 30, seven of them have publicly announced scholarships from UK, including the younger brother of former Wildcat Kevin Knox, Karter Knox, who expects to visit Lexington for Big Blue Madness later this month.

One of two in-state products to make the Top 150 was Lyon County guard Travis Perry, who picked up an offer from Kentucky over the summer. Perry is ranked No. 104 overall and the top player in Kentucky. The other local recruit is Elizabethtown’s Ayden Evans, who came in ranked at No. 106 overall with four-star status. Evans is a 6-foot-8, 200-pound power forward with offers from the likes of Missouri, West Virginia, Texas A&M, and Seton Hall, among others.
